So far, we have learned that the Obama administration’s report that said Obama didn’t actively seek to have Valerie Jarrett succeed him in the U.S. Senate is laughable.
Here are the four efforts he made that we know of:
- His incoming Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel called Blagojevich Chief of Staff John Harris two days before the election to say Jarrett was Obama’s preference.
- Obama himself called SEIU president Tom Balanoff the day before the election and told him Jarrett was his choice and listened as Balanoff said he’d pass that message along to Blagojevich the next day, which he did.
- Between the election (Nov. 4) and Nov. 8, Emanuel called Blagojevich “once or twice” and among the topics that was discussed was Obama’s preference for Jarrett.
- Emanuel emissary John Wyma, a lobbyist, called Harris Nov. 10 with the message that Obama preferred Jarrett. That was one day after the WH report said Jarrett had withdrawn her name from consideration.
How many more ways will we be able to prove that an official report issued days before the Inauguration was a big lie?
